SCERDO in partnership with the Alberta Government opened up the first primary and middle school in Ceegaag, Somalia. Currently in great progress, the institution assists the district to promote initiatives that will help the youth become lifelong learners, productive workers and self-sufficient citizens. The school consists of Five rooms, two bathrooms and a 400 meter fence. The grand opening of the school was on May 9th, 2009 and the ceremony was attended by many dignitaries, including local authorities, local NGO's and Ceegaag community, at large excited to have a place where their children could attend school.
